Deep breath – puff chests out proudly! We’re not only top, but highest position ever in 118 years! Read this and weep you ‘shots!
Hendon started the match living up to their much improved reputation. New boy Parmenter showed some fine touches and just missed notching up a debut goal. His persistence was rewarded when he laid on the pass for Saint to score the opener on 49. He’d earlier crossed for Ridout to force a corner.
On 55 Lewis narrowly missed from a Pye header. A good save by Root on 71 pushing a header over and McCann followed up with a save from Saint at the other end.
Added time built up the excitement with end-to-end stuff. Town cracked it following several corners and a close effort from the ever-present Moore and Parratt floated one over for Adekola to head the last-gasp winner. Hendon fans were none-too-pleased!
Off to the long haul to Worecester on saturday!
