The only saving grace about this match is that we’re still in a cup (of sorts !), though this may cause problems with a busy tough league schedule ahead. Also we’re thru to Romford (watch the fireworks !).
Not much to report, but ‘highlights’ were :
113 – Charles beat Samuels to left of box – low hard shot to beat Turpin on near post. Hopes of a win were dashed when ex-Townie & budding porn star (ref news of world exploits !),equalised in dying seconds. Another ex, Theodosiou, had a chance on 52, but Root saved/Billy cleared. 70 – Harlow keeper saved fine shot from Parrat over bar from a corner.
It was primarily a defensive game, with little to show from an off-color Leon up front. 8 mins of e.t. left and Saint’s low shot skimmed the far post. Within a minute Charles finally scored from a low shot inside the near post. Then Falana had one disallowed for offside. But it was Kelly that saved Harlow scoring from a Falana header.
On to the pens:
– Root saved Salmon
– Leon scored
– Sub Walker blasted over bar
– Blaney scored in corner
– Samuel struck down the middle
– Saint’s was saved, giving Harlow a chance
– Falana saved by Root’s legs
– Hooker blasts home to win the match.
On to the Aylesbury Ducks – bring your own orange sauce!
